Ecological Stewardship at Horizon

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Horizon, in partnership with Cincinnati Nature Center, is working on a project to restore native plants and biodiversity on our grounds. Horizon is seeking those passionate about improving our environment. Eco Service Projects are planned throughout the year to remove invasive plants on the Horizon grounds and plant native flowers and trees. 

An Eco Service Project is planned on Feb. 7th, 10 a.m. - noon at Horizon.  

Outdoor activities will include:

  • Cutting and treating invasive honeysuckle
  • Fountain Lakebed cleanup
  • Seed scattering in the prairie
  • Wood duck box installation

Indoor activities will include:

  • Birdhouse building and painting
  • Wood duck box construction
  • Take-home pinecone bird feeder construction

Everyone is welcome to join in these service dates, so bring the whole family! Children under 12 who would like to participate in a service project should be accompanied by a parent.
