Middle School Happy Church Serving Trip

The Happy Church resides in Jackson, KY, one of the most impoverished communities in the United States. Horizon partners with The Happy Church to aid them in their mission of breaking the cycle of poverty for the children in Jackson. This trip is open to students who have finished grades 5-8 in the 2024-2025 school year as well as adult chaperones. You can learn more about The Happy Church at thehappychurch.org.

 
 Students and parent chaperones have the option of attending one of two trips.

Tuesday, July 15th - Saturday, July 19th
OR
Tuesday, July 22nd - Saturday, July 26th

Register for one of these trips by clicking the green registration button.  Registration will open on February  2, 2025. 

We will meet at Horizon at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday July 15th/July 22nd) and return to Horizon around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday (July 19th/July 26th).
 
The cost for this grip for students is $275 and complimentary for parent chaperones.  This cost covers transportation, lodging, meals, and supplies while serving at The Happy Church.
 
Students and parents who plan on serving on The Happy Church Trip in July are asked to attend two pre-trip trainings. These meetings are designed to give a better understanding of The Happy Church, the surrounding community, and how we will serve them. It is also an opportunity for everyone to get acquainted before the trip. These two meetings will take place on Sunday, April 27th and Sunday, June 8th from noon to 1 p.m.
