On Thursday, November 14th, Horizon women are invited to join other women for dinner and guest speaker, Marnie Hammar. Dinner will be served near the fireplace at 6:30 p.m. The program will begin at 7 p.m.
You know the tension. You feel it every day. We are torn between the cultural pull to be perfect and our very human tendency to want to earn approval and status and a place. Opposing this is the deep-down knowledge that we can never truly be perfect. This talk will help us better understand this tension and our own tendencies to cope with it. It will also empower us to lay down perfectionism and instead choose the freedom that Jesus invites us to. True rest awaits you.
This is a great opportunity to meet and connect with other women who attend Horizon!

About Our Speaker:
Marnie Hammar writes about how freedom isn’t found in being perfect, but in knowing God deeper and hearing Him louder. Wife for 29 years and boy mama (19, 16, and 13), Marnie’s non-writing life revolves around taming the stinky, restocking the pantry, and cheering for her boys at soccer (loudly) and golf (quietly).
Pre-kids, Marnie earned her MS from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, and worked in communications in the corporate world and at Harvard University and Babson College. She is a regular contributor for She Reads Truth and Family Christian, and she loves hosting the Hear Him Louder Guest Essay Series, and coming soon, the Hear Him Louder Podcast.
You can find her work published at (in)courage, The Joyful Life Magazine, Revelation Wellness and Fathom Mag. She is currently working on her first book. Marnie would love to connect with you on Instagram, Facebook, or www.marniehammar.com, where she offers a free prayer resource to help you listen for Jesus.
