Women's Dinner Series: Emotional Intelligence: Learn How To Become a More Effective Leader and Build Healthy Environments in the Workplace

Thursday, September 19
6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

On Thursday, September 19th Horizon women are invited to join other women for dinner and guest speaker, Michelle Hicks.  Dinner will be served near the fireplace at 6:30 p.m.  The program will begin at 7 p.m.

Becoming an effective leader involves a lot more than a high IQ. Research has shown that “emotional intelligence” can have a dramatic impact on a person’s ability to create healthy and rewarding workplace environments.

So… what exactly is emotional intelligence (also known as emotional quotient or EQ)? EQ refers to how well you can read and regulate your own emotions and understand how others feel. Many experts agree that emotional intelligence is vital for leadership success.

Join women’s career speaker, Michelle Hicks, to learn how to incorporate emotional intelligence as you lead in your workplace and home. When you develop the ability to be aware of, control and express your emotions in healthy ways, you can gain improved collaboration, increased engagement and ultimately better performance from your team.

During our evening, women will learn how to:
 • transform the way you interact with and respond to others.
 • improve your workplace relationships.
 • manage conflicts objectively and respond with humility and empathy.

This is a great opportunity to meet and connect with other women who attend Horizon!
