Horizon women and friends are invited to a serving event that will take place at Horizon on Thursday, Sept. 14th at 7 p.m. to benefit individuals who are served by our partner organization, Inner Parish Ministry (IPM). This will be a great time to connect with other Horizon women as we assemble backpacks that contain items to meet the immediate needs of individuals who are unsheltered.
The evening will kick off with two special guest speakers before we begin assembling the backpacks. The Newtown Police Chief will recount stories of the numerous times he has given these backpacks to unsheltered individuals in our community, and how much they have helped them. A representative from IPM will give us an update on their location move from Newtown to Union Township in Clermont County. She’ll also explain how IPM has used the backpacks to positively impact the lives of people in need.
We will fill the backpacks with basic necessities like pop-top non-perishable food items, socks, a t-shirt, blanket and tarp.
